Graduate Admissions

Our school began training undergraduate students in computer science in 1985 and recruiting postgraduate students in 2004. We have been certified by the Ministry of Education as the first-level authority for awarding the Master's degree in Computer Science and Technology. In 2020, we were approved to be in the first national batch of first-class undergraduate teaching institutions and honored for passing the National Engineering Education professional certification. We aim to explore the frontier of computer science, serve the primary national strategic needs, and do research on the common fundamental theories and key technologies in this discipline. After long-term accumulation, we held four research directions: computer network and distributed computing, computer vision and machine learning, data mining and intelligent computing, and complex systems and intelligent control. Now, we have Anhui Province Industrial Internet Intelligent Application and Safety Engineering Research Center, Anhui Province Key Laboratory of Metallurgical Industry Digital Twin Technology disciplinary platform, focusing on the frontiers of intelligent Internet of things, industrial Internet, computer vision and intelligent perception, multi-label learning, and complex system networks and robust control. In recent years, we have undertaken over 100 national and provincial projects, including national critical research and development sub-projects, and won 4 provincial natural science awards. We have published numerous high-level research works in IEEE TMC, IEEE TWC, IEEE TC, IEEE TNNLS, Journal of Computer Science, IJCAI, DASFAA, and other leading journals and conferences.

We aim to cultivate scientific research-oriented and engineering technology- oriented computer professionals with good comprehensive quality, professional ethics, rigorous and realistic scientific attitude and style, and who can positively influence national economic construction, scientific and technological development, and social progress. The specific objectives are:

(1) A strong computer science and technology foundation is essential, along with a comprehensive understanding of relevant software and theory, diverse computer system structures, and familiarity with modern computer software, hardware environments, and tools.

(2) The ability to engage in scientific research or independently undertake specialized technical work. And the ability to use computer technology to solve various research and application problems via collaboration with practitioners in other disciplines. A rigorous and realistic scientific attitude and style are highly valued.

(3) The ability to engage in scientific research and engineering in research institutes, large and medium-sized enterprises, the finance and insurance industry, and government, as well as undertake teaching work in universities.
